Pre-Columbian, Valley of Mexico, Teotihuacan culture, ca. 3rd to 7th century CE. An intriguing example of a stylized anthropomorphic figure that is hand-carved from mottled sage-green stone with dark green, black, and beige inclusions. String-cut grooves delineate the legs and arms from the body as well as create the eyes and mouth on the face. Polished surfaces create a pleasing tactile feel around the figure.
