Pre-Columbian, Highland Mexico, Teotihuacan III, ca. 300-650 CE. This striking female figurine with expressive and captivating facial features proudly dons ear spools, a fanciful fringe of hair held in place by a headdress, and a most impressive collar or necklace. Dressed to the nines, she likely represents a member of the elite class. The upper garment is lined with fringed trim and the skirt elegantly terminates in a pattern comprised of two horizontal lines most likely indicated stitching or appliqué work. The artisan of this figure created an impression from a single mold, a technique that allows for precise renditions of a painstakingly delineated designs. 4"T x 2-1/2"W
