Description:

Roman Empire, Imperial period, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A tall, light green, translucent free-blown glass vessel supported upon a substantive rounded base with a semi-smooth pontil scar, the body of a slender piriform shape with four, evenly spaced nicely-formed vertical indentations to its walls, tapering to a narrow, long cylindrical neck, and slightly flared rim with a folded lip. Attesting to the glassblower's process, the surface shows wonderful pinstripe striations from mouth to base. Bright rainbow iridescence visible beneath earthen deposits. Slender yet sturdy in design! Size: 1.875" W x 7" H (4.8 cm x 17.8 cm).
