Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 3rd to 4th century CE. A lovely free-blown unguent-holding vessel formed from near-transparent glass of a pale-green hue. The unguentarium is defined by a rounded base and a slightly-rough pontil scar, an elongated piriform body with four uneven indentations, a tapering cylindrical neck, and a flared rim with an in-folded lip. Light encrustations have formed within the body; however, attractive layers of rainbow-hued iridescence nicely accentuate the vessel's soft verdant hue. Size: 1.1" W x 5.5" H (2.8 cm x 14 cm); 6.125" H (15.6 cm) on included custom stand.
