Description:

Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Chihuahua region, Casas Grandes culture, ca. 1100 to 1450 CE. A hand-built jar of tall, spherical form with a rounded base, a tapered upper body, and a thick, red-painted rim. The exterior surface presents with a beige hue that is decorated almost from top to bottom with elaborate fine-line linear motifs, solid black or red triangles, and a band of checkerboard patterning just beneath the neck. The unpainted underside is known as a "spirit break". Size: 8.91" Diameter x 8.1" H (22.6 cm x 20.6 cm)
