Terracotta vessel with a black figure narrative of Herakles wrestling the Nemean Lion, his first labor, with two woman, likely enslaved by the lion, watching on either side. Incised on the characters are facial and corporial details. Hints of white paint have been added to the women's faces with subtle hints of violet added throughout. A superb piece. 8-1/2"H.
