Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. An exquisite and sizeable pitcher comprised of hand-blown aqua blue-green glass. The form is comprised of an elegant piriform body on a concave ring base with a broken pontil mark in the center, shoulders that taper to a tubular neck, a flared mouth with folded rim, and a thick trailed handle joining rim to shoulder. The glass itself presents marvelous translucency throughout most of the body, and the surface displays a subtle diagonal ribbed pattern. Size: 3.875" in diameter x 9.375" H (9.8 cm x 23.8 cm)
