Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Chihuahua region, Casas Grandes culture, Ramos Polychrome type, ca. 1150 to 1450 CE. A lovely pottery vessel of round-bottomed form with tapered walls, a gently flared rim, and beige-hued surfaces. The majority of the body is decorated in typical Ramos Polychrome style with dense red- and black-painted linear and geometric motifs that captivate the observer. Size: 7" Diameter x 8.25" H (17.8 cm x 21 cm)

Provenance: Estate of Peter H. Tillou Collection, thence by descent. Acquired in the 1990s, collection # 038. Appraised by Marianne Huber in 2014.
