Indonesia, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A very large, finely carved, dark wood seated male figure with a snake (delineated in relief) writhing around his neck, and holding an offering vessel in both hands (also nicely delineated in relief). Nude with a long phallus revealed between his legs, his visage is quite engrossing, presenting large almond-shaped eyes, a long aquiline nose, a mustache and goatee, protruding ears, and an asymmetrical, neatly manicured coiffure - all upon an integral rounded rectangular base. Size: 5.75" W x 31" H (14.6 cm x 78.7 cm)
