Description:

Ancient Near East, modern day Syria, ca. 12th to 11th century BCE. An impressive cast-bronze idol figure standing nude with legs together and both arms held out from broad shoulders, as his right hand grasps a cylindrical object. Presenting wide hips, a narrow waist, and an incised navel, the ancient figure displays a minimalistic visage of sunken, ovoid eyes, a sharp nose, a petite mouth, and a pointed chin, all below a rectangular headdress. A pair of corseted ears flanks the sizable head, while both feet stand atop a cuboid projection. Size: 1.25" W x 4" H (3.2 cm x 10.2 cm); 5.375" H (13.7 cm) on included custom stand.
