Description:

Ancient Near East, Holyland, the Levant, Syro-Hittite culture, ca. 2800 to 1500 BCE. A fascinating pottery figure of a goddess displaying a stylized form with a bird-like visage. Gazing slightly to her right, the avian-esque deity wears a conical headdress with prominent side flaps, a thick, twisted necklace that hangs across her broad shoulders, and a floor-length, flared dress. She holds her short arms to her sides as her elongated neck supports her sizeable head. Her abstract visage displays a pointed, beak-like nose flanked by a pair of huge, target-motif eyes. Size: 1.5" W x 4.5" H (3.8 cm x 11.4 cm)
