Description:

Ancient Near East, Syria, Archaic Period, ca. 3000 to 2500 BCE. A hand-carved white stone stamp seal of a rectangular form with rounded peripheries and a perforated plug handle on the verso. The stamp face bears an abstract scene with two figures raising one arm towards a central star, and a petite duck strides between them. Faint remains of green glaze are visible along the handle. Custom putty impression included. Size: 1.25" L x 1.1" W (3.2 cm x 2.8 cm); 2.3" H (5.8 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: private Zaveloff collection, Lakewood, New Jersey, USA, acquired from Venus Gallery, Israel, in 2002
