Description:

Northern Europe, Viking / Viking Rus culture, ca. 10th to 11th century CE. A stunning gold ring made from thick wires that taper at the tips, which then twist separately around the band. The gold is a 94.25% purity (equivalent to 22K+), and clearly this was an adornment for a wealthy or elite person. Despite the age, this ring is excellent and wearable condition for either a finger, or on a cord as a pendant! Size: 0.75" Diameter (1.9 cm); US ring size: 8.5; gold quality: 94.25% (equivalent to 22K+); weight: 9 grams

Please note, due to the shape of the ring, the band fits to a 7.25 on a ring sizer, but is larger and fits to a US ring size 8.5.

Provenance: private London, United Kingdom collection; ex-Austrian collection, formed in the 1990s on the European art market
