Sung Dynasty Tea Bowl -Hare's Fur Glaze. China, Sung Dynasty, Ca. 10th Century CE. A wonderfully colorful tea bowl with hare's fur glaze. Bowl sits on a slightly raised pedestal and tapers outward to rim. A colorful burst of blue, green, and orange shoots out from the center of bowl, where there is an eye-like shape, and fades out towards the rim into a tannish-orange color. Very base of bowl is left un-slipped. 2-1/2"H x 5"W. Custom box. Provenance: Ex D. Smith Collection, acquired from I.M. Chait Gallery, CA.
