Ancient Near East, Sumer, ca. 2nd to early 1st millennium BCE. A lovely press-molded plaque displaying a standing depiction of the goddess Astarte (also known as Ishtar) in relief. She holds her hands beneath her voluptuous bosom, which is thought to be a gesture of fertility. Her form is slender and well-composed, and her tranquil visage stares outwards past the confines of space and time. Astarte is an ancient goddess who has gone by many names throughout antiquity; she is even mentioned in the Old Testament of the Bible. Size: 1.3" W x 4" H (3.3 cm x 10.2 cm)

For shipments of oversize items, Artemis Gallery will assist the buyer in working with a third-party shipping provider. For shipments outside of the USA, customs and duties may apply upon entry into said country, and this fee, if any, is the buyer's responsibility.
