Ancient Near East, Sumerian, ca. 3000 to 2500 BCE. Carved from a single piece of white stone, a seal or stamp in the form of a pig or other snouted animal with the remains of a darker stone or glass eye inlay, nicely contoured musculature, and incised markings on the verso - perforated from top to bottom behind the head for suspension or attachment. Size: 2.375" W x 1.125" H (6 cm x 2.9 cm)
