Description:

Ancient Near East, Mesopotamia, Sumer, ca. 3rd to 2nd millennium BCE. An attractive double strand necklace comprised of dozens of petite cylindrical beads shaped from chalky-white faience, dark-grey steatite, and warm vermilion-hued stone, perhaps jasper. The chromatic pattern alternates between dark and light colors on both strands; one strand is slightly longer than the other. The strands are capped with a silver-plated loop and lobster clasp to create a beautiful, wearable necklace! Size: 25" L (63.5 cm); largest bead: .18" W (0.5 cm)
