Description:

**Originally Listed At $400**

Ancient Near East, Sumer, ca. 3rd to 2nd millennium BCE. An elegant and attractive necklace comprised of dozens of petite cylindrical beads shaped from chalky-white faience, dark-grey stone, and warm vermilion-hued stone, perhaps jasper. The outer strands boast beads in all three colors and the interior bisects into two strands, the upper with primarily white and red beads, and the lower with mostly dark-grey beads. Strung in modern times and capped with a gold-filled loop and lobster clasp combo, this is a wonderful and wearable example of ancient art meets modern fashion. Size (necklace): 20.25" L (51.4 cm); size of largest bead (dark-grey): 0.2" W x 0.2" H (0.5 cm x 0.5 cm).
