Rome, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 5th century CE. A fabulous necklace presenting a rich assortment of 31 ancient and colorful glass beads; including gorgeous millefiori mosaic fused and chevron glass beads as well as others created via core form and frazzle techniques; most are rounded in shape, but several are cylindrical, faceted, and/or incised. Strung in a graduated arrangement in modern times with a modern clasp. One of a kind! Size: 18" L (45.7 cm); largest bead measures 1.125" in diameter (2.9 cm)
