Memorabilia. United States, Steve Keene (b. 1957), acrylic painting of the Capitol Records Building, ca. last quarter of the 20th century CE. A vibrant, abstract rendering of the Capitol Records Building (also known as the Capitol Records Tower) - a thirteen-story landmark designed by Louis Naidorf in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California in acrylic on board by none other than Steve Keene, the contemporary artist who was dubbed the "Assembly Line Picasso" by Time magazine. Steve Keene is a Brooklyn-based artist who prizes speed and volume when he creates. In his studio, he typically lines up panels of plywood and paints multiples of each composition. His chief concern is that these paintings match one another. He calls his creations "art for the moment." Keene was an artist-in-residence at the Brooklyn Public Library, the second artist to hold this honor. Size: 23.75" L x 24" W (60.3 cm x 61 cm)
Keene's style is full of vibrant energy and rendered in bold color - truly capturing the Hollywood spirit. At the lower left corner in white lettering, Keene has written "WHICH MOVIE" and at the upper right "SK3S16". The fact that this painting depicts the Capitol Records Building, located just north of Hollywood and Vine, and home to the recording studios of Capitol Studios - a Los Angeles historic-cultural monument - is particularly fitting as Keene is beloved by the music world. He is also known for creating original album cover artwork, stage sets, video sets, and promotional posters for many musical acts including the Dave Matthews Band, the Klezmatics, Silver Jews, among others. In addition to Time Magazine, Keene has been featured on National Public Radio as well as the pages of The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and many other venues.

Today, Musack's mission is to give kids and teens a voice through music by providing guitars, drums, and support for music teachers - wherever the need arises.
But back in 2009, Emmy-Award winning writer/producer Donick Cary (Letterman /Simpsons / Parks and Recreation /Silicon Valley) began Musack with a simple vision - raise money to fund musical programs for his hometown high school on Nantucket Island. After a rash of teen suicides on the island, Donick thought about how he and his friends got through their teen years. Music.
