Description:

Steve Grant (American, 21st century). "Third Flatiron" colored woodcut, 1981. Edition 6 of 44. Hand-signed in graphite with year, title, location, and edition number beneath woodcut. A beautiful woodcut depicting the third flatiron of the Flatirons - a series of rock formations on Green Mountain near Boulder, Colorado. Rendered in a light violet-gray, the tapering peak slopes upwards to the right, rising above the verdant forest surrounding to pierce the sky. A lone gray cloud floats by as minimalist pines cover the ground. Images of the numbered Flatirons on Green Mountain are ubiquitous symbols of the city of Boulder. Size of print: 10.75" W x 14.75" H (27.3 cm x 37.5 cm); of frame: 16.75" W x 20.75" H (42.5 cm x 52.7 cm)
