Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A beautiful pendant of unique form comprised of 2 oblong Roman glass fragment and a faceted peridot stone all displayed within form-fitting sterling silver settings. The topmost glass fragment features a pale yellow, nearly colorless hue that is semi-transparent, and the bottommost fragment features light yellow hues with rainbow iridescence as well as a lateral blue stripe. The chartreuse-hued peridot resting along the corners of the 2 fragments provides a vibrant pop of color that complements the blue stripe nicely. Size (pendant): 1.125" W x 2.125" H (2.9 cm x 5.4 cm); (cord): 22" L (55.9 cm); sterling silver quality: 92.5% or higher; weight: 13.8 grams
