Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Timor, Permian, ca. 520 to 250 million years ago. This is a stunning silver pendant made of a fossilized ammonite that has developed 2 vugs with crystalline formations! The structures are black and dark gray, covering the concave center of the spiral. The solid outer rim of the ammonite has been preserved in hues of orange red- the second vug just before the chamber opening. The entire ammonite is displayed within a modern sterling silver setting with a hinged suspension loop above, and a modern necklace cord enables the wearability of this unique accessory! Size (pendant): 2.3" L x 1.6" W (5.8 cm x 4.1 cm); (cord): 21" L (53.3 cm); sterling silver quality: 92.5% or higher; weight: 24.8 grams.
