Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A group of six Roman glass fragments of a vibrant green hue with rounded exterior borders and tapering forms, perhaps from the base of a large glass bottle. Each fragment is displayed within modern sterling silver settings on either end which connect to their neighboring pieces with small circular loops. Thin sterling silver chain links comprise the strands of the necklace with one terminating in a small lobster clasp. Layers of vibrant rainbow-hued iridescence envelop the glass fragments and provide for an elegant presentation. Wearable and stylish! Size (necklace): 18" L (45.7 cm); size of largest glass fragment (all are relatively similar): 1.2" W (3 cm); quality of sterling silver: 95%; total weight: 50 grams.
