Description:

Africa, Madagascar, late Cretaceous, ca. 71 million years ago. A stunning sterling silver bracelet comprised of 5 fossilized ammonite shells with warm iridescent hues. The ammonites are set into form fitting bezels and display their natural umber brown coloration and tight spirals. These special fossils have developed iridescence due to the aragonite on the surface, some ammonites are highly prized for jewelry and considered gemstone quality or "ammolite." Ammolite is very rare and only comes from Canada, however, these ammonites fossilized under similar conditions producing the amazing fiery hues. A toggle clasp with 3 rings allows the piece to be adjusted to accommodate most wrist sizes making this a wearable bracelet! Size (bracelet): 8.25" L (21 cm); (ammonite fossils): 1" L x 0.75" W (2.5 cm x 1.9 cm); sterling silver quality: 92.5% or higher; weight: 62 grams
