Description:

South Africa, ca. late 20th century CE. A large wire and beaded kudu antelope sculpture with string lights illuminating the interior. The body is comprised of a frame made from steel wires with smaller gauge wires strung with seed beads twisted over the frame, and the horns are entirely wire. Kudus are a large antelope species of eastern and southern African savanna and scrublands- males sport these iconic corkscrew horns. Size: 45" L x 12" W x 40" H (114.3 cm x 30.5 cm x 101.6 cm)

Provenance: private Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA collection, acquired 1964 to mid-1990s
