Roman, Imperial period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A beautiful cylindrical jug with a narrow neck, wide mouth, rolled rim, and a strap handle that rises from just below the rim to the top of the shoulder. The body has an absolutely gorgeous golden/rainbow iridescent patina. After the invention of blown glass in the first century CE, glass became easier to mass produce, and so glass items entered everyday Roman life for the majority of householders. Size: 2.75" W x 5.2" H (7 cm x 13.2 cm)
