Description:

Ancient Greece, Cyprus, ca. 1st millennium BCE. A petite wheel-thrown polychrome vase with a small discoid foot, a tapered body, a rounded shoulder, and a flared rim. A segmented design around the rim and undulating wave-form motifs encompassing the shoulder are presented in black slip atop a tan ground, with a thick dark band around the midsection adorned with applied tan-hued geometric detailing. Some of the dark slip has brightened to a red-orange hue due to environmental conditions over time, making this an attractive example from ancient Cyprus! Size: 3.25" W x 2.625" H (8.3 cm x 6.7 cm).
