Description:

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A sweet ensemble of six miniature terracotta figures, including five standing females - all with voluptuous breasts, headdresses, and round ear ornaments - and a similarly decorated seated figure. All are 'sheepface' figures with classic protruding noses and pointed hornlike ears. An adorable group from the ancients of West Mexico that may be small in size but mighty in expression! Size: range from 2.75" H (7 cm) to 3.65" H (9.3 cm)

Provenance: private Stagecoach, Nevada, USA collection; acquired from 1985 to present from galleries such as Arte Primitivo, Art For Eternity, Butterfields, and Riverbend Gallery
