Description:

Northern Europe / Russia, Migration Period / Finno-Ugric / Proto-Viking, ca. 5th to 8th century CE. A group of six bronze beads of similar form: a cast, coil-like body studded with multiple flattened spheres at regular intervals. The smallest has openwork spheres. All are made from a high-tin copper alloy common to this region and time that gives their patina a slight shine. Size of largest: 3.1" W (7.9 cm)

  • Condition: Three have light corrosion which has resulted in small holes (easily seen in the photographs). Another has a loss to one end. Shiny grey-green patina on most of the surfaces.
