Roman, Republic to Imperial era, ca. 2nd century BCE to 4th century CE. A collection of six ancient bronze, copper alloy, and silver-alloy coins. Included is a Roman Republic leaded bronze coin featuring the bearded head of Janus on the obverse, symbolizing duality and beginnings, and the prow of a war galley on the reverse, representing naval power. From Syracuse comes a leaded bronze coin with the iconic Pegasus flying left, a revered symbol of Greek mythology. Also featured is a copper-silver alloy coin of Emperor Trajan Decius (249-251 CE) with a laureate bust on the obverse and an eagle standing proudly on the reverse, embodying Roman strength; this coin boasts a silver purity of 33%. Two additional bronze coins feature the laureate bust of Trebonianus Gallus on their obverse and Moesia standing between a bull and a lion on their reverse, symbolizing regional power and allegory. Our shippers of choice are DHL for International shipments and UPS for domestic shipments, but we are able to ship via other carriers at the buyer's expense as deemed necessary or by request.

For shipments of oversize items, Artemis Gallery will assist the buyer in working with a third-party shipping provider. For shipments outside of the USA, customs and duties may apply upon entry into said country, and this fee, if any, is the buyer's responsibility. If you have questions about this, please inquire BEFORE bidding.
