Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 2nd century CE. A brass dupondius coin minted under Hadrian and set in a 20th or 21st century pendant setting as a wearable necklace. The pendant is comprised of a textured 97% silver, with a gold-silver alloy nodes along the lower edge. Obverse: the radiate bust of Hadrian right and the inscription "IMP CAESAR TRAIANVS HADRIANVS AVG P M TR P COS III" Reverse: Goddess Aeternitas standing facing, head left with "SC." The dupondius was produced as a bronze / brass and copper coin. Size of pendant: 2.3" L x 1.5" W (5.8 cm x 3.8 cm); cord: 21" L (53.3 cm); gold quality: 62.86%; silver quality: 27.8% to 97% weight: 56.6 grams

Provenance: ex-private Las Vegas, Nevada, USA collection, acquired prior to the 1990s
