**First Time At Auction**

First Nations, Northwestern Canada, Nunavut, Kimmirut, Inuit, ca. late 20th century CE. A hand carved soapstone seal statue with whale bone birds perched upon the back. The underside is signed by the artist Mike Kotaigo (1934 to present) and includes his disc number E7-159. The birds are removable and attach via small pegs. A narwal caving by Kotaigo is on display in the Dennose Museum Center's collection, see their catalog number 1991.2.161. Size: 7" L x 3" W x 4.25" H (17.8 cm x 7.6 cm x 10.8 cm)
