Description:

Greece, Hellenistic Period, ca. 3rd to 1st century BCE. A beautiful pottery bowl of a hemispherical form that boasts intricate raised, mold-formed motifs. The exterior features an encircled, eight-petaled flower beneath the base, with four columns of frilled leaves creating four segregated sections, four large amphorae, multi-pointed stars, and a register of ovolo around the midsection. The vessel is embellished with a thick layer of jet-black glaze, and a raised signature reading "AEBDIN" is presented within one of the body sections. Size: 4.4" W x 3" H (11.2 cm x 7.6 cm).
