Memorabilia. A signed limited edition vinyl print of an original painting depicting the Beach Boys' record "Heroes and Villains" (1967) on the Capitol Records label in its jacket with CAPITOL in block letters, signed and numbered by British artist Morgan Howell - the signature in pencil at the lower center margin, numbered AP 2/25 in pencil on the lower right, and stamped and dated 2015 on the lower left. Howell is famous for painting super-sized depictions of 7" singles - typically iconic releases from British and American music of the late twentieth century. The song "Heroes and Villains" was composed in 1966, written and produced by Brian Wilson with lyrics by Van Dyke Parks. It was the first collaborative effort between Wilson and Van Dyke Parks. The follow-up song to "Good Vibrations," "Heroes and Villains" was envisioned as a comedic musical piece for The Beach Boys' unfinished album entitled, "Smile". Once it was determined that the album would be shelved, the song was rearranged to be a single, with "You're Welcome" as the B-side in July, 1967. Today, Musack's mission is to give kids and teens a voice through music by providing guitars, drums, and support for music teachers - wherever the need arises.
But back in 2009, Emmy-Award winning writer/producer Donick Cary (Letterman /Simpsons / Parks and Recreation /Silicon Valley) began Musack with a simple vision - raise money to fund musical programs for his hometown high school on Nantucket Island. After a rash of teen suicides on the island, Donick thought about how he and his friends got through their teen years. Music.
