Description:

Native American, Southwest, Hopi, Ethel Youvella, ca. 1960s CE. A beautiful pottery vase signed on the bottom by the artist Ethel Youvella, who was from the village of Hano at First Mesa. The piece is of an elegant cylindrical form and boasts a pair of identical, black on red, painted spirit animals of a sinuous form that is delineated with bold geometric motifs. These designs are reminiscent of the Nampeyo era, named for the female artist who revived Pueblo pottery as an art form in the 20th century. A stunning example, signed by this reputable Hopi potter. Size: 5" W x 8.625" H (12.7 cm x 21.9 cm)
