Ancient Near East / Central Asia, Sassanian (Sasanian / Sassanid) Empire, ca. 224 to 651 CE. An interesting stone seal bead carved with an ibex or goat ram grazing. A suspension hole is bored through the center for threading this seal on a cord as a pendant. Incised onto one face is the stylized ram, head low to the ground with stalks of grass surrounding. Size: 2" L x 1" W (5.1 cm x 2.5 cm)
