Susan L. Connelly (1936-2011)."Reflecting on Reflections" oil on canvas, 2001. Signed on lower right. A picturesque landscape aptly entitled, "Reflecting on Reflections" by American artist Susan Connelly. Connelly invites the viewer to admire the mirror-like reflections of colorful autumnal foliage along a creek or river, with picturesque purple mountains in the distance. A breathtaking view delineated with adept, loose brushstrokes and impressive light effects, set in an attractive custom frame. Susan Connelly grew up in the vibrant art community of Laguna Beach, California and studied fine art at Orange Coast College. As a young adult Connelly moved to New Mexico and lived in Santa Fe and Las Cruces, where she studied with the artist Earline Barnes. Connelly's impressionist paintings have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions, and her art has been collected in the United States, Mexico, and Europe.
Although Connelly passed away in 2001, she left us with these words, "I paint because, for the life of me, I really cannot think of anything I would rather do. The wonderful and enticing thing about painting, like life, it is full of surprises and is a never ending journey. A painting becomes a new adventure. I am so gratified when it is successful. I approach the blank canvas with all that is behind me and look forward to what lies ahead." (Susan Connelly as quoted in her obituary)

- Condition: Painting is in overall very nice condition. It is signed by the artist on lower right, and signed, titled, and dated on verso as well. There are stains on the lower section of gallery paper covering the back of the frame as shown, but this does not impact the painting. A few scuffs/nicks to frame but it is still presents very nicely. Fitted with a suspension wire and ready to display.
