Description:

Eastern Europe, Russia, Saratov, Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous era, ca. 160 to 140 million years ago. A collection of seven Craspedites nodiger ammonite shell fossils, fully excavated and well-preserved. Their shells have transformed into crystalline white calcite due to diagenetic processes, where calcite filled the chambers, preserving the ammonites' structure. The black, wavy formations, known as sutures, are prominently displayed, with their fractal patterns adding an aesthetically pleasing element to the natural anatomy of the ammonites. All are approximately the same size. Size: 1.75" Diameter x 0.75" W (4.4 cm x 1.9 cm)
