Description:

Roman, perhaps Romano-British, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A hand-carved limestone of a poignant figure, perhaps a male votary, with dozens of conical nodules comprising the coiffure. Petite eyes bulge from within generous eyelids while a sharply-angled nose protrudes above full lips, all between a smooth brow and beardless cheeks that taper to a rounded chin. Size: 3.5" W x 4.25" H (8.9 cm x 10.8 cm); 7.25" H (18.4 cm) on included custom stand.
