Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 2nd century CE. A tall wheel-thrown terracotta oinochoe with a concentric ring base, a bulbous body with several horizontal ribs, and rounded shoulders which gradually taper to a cylindrical neck. It also features a pinched trefoil spout, a collared rim, and an applied strap handle joining rim to shoulder. The exterior has a light-orange color with areas of pale-yellow deposits across the surface. Size: 7.5" H (19 cm).
