Roman, Imperial period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A lovely pair of terracotta reliefs, each featuring a gentle visage enveloped in a headscarf. Surrounded by cascading drapery, each face displays soft features of a full cheeks, fleshy lips, generously-lidded almond-shaped eyes, and a round nose. The billowing headscarves may indicate these faces were intended to represent Persians. Size of largest: 3.1" W x 2.4" H (7.9 cm x 6.1 cm)
