Roman, Imperial, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. An elegant silver ring with an ovoid carnelian intaglio and a ribbon-like band. Adorned in a rich shade of deep red, the raised intaglio displays the relief of the Roman goddess of fortune and luck, Fortuna (Tyche in Greek mythology), standing and looking to the left as she wears a toga and holds a scepter in her right hand and a cornucopia in her left. The delicate silver band tapers opposite the intaglio and frames the tondo with a raised border and an incised design of 4 curvilinear lines and a target motif on both sides. Silver quality: 88% silver. US ring size: 5. Size of ring: 0.875" in diameter (2.2 cm). Size of tondo: 0.5" L x 0.375" W (1.3 cm x 1 cm). Total Weight: 5.2 grams.
