Roman, Republican Period, ca. 3rd to 1st century BCE. A lovely example of an 86% silver pendant with a tiny gold pin at the base of its loop for suspension. The pendant is in the form of a woman's head, representing the goddess Fortuna with her distinctive headdress. Fortuna was one of the most popular household deities worshipped by Romans, who hoped she would bring them prosperity and luck. This lovely example might bring you the same. She is wearable with an included modern cord and clasp! Size: 1" W x 1.45" H (2.5 cm x 3.7 cm); length of cord: 20" L (50.8 cm); silver is 86%; weight: 21.5 grams
