Roman, Imperial Period, Gordian III, ca. 238 to 244 CE. A silver denarius of Gordian III: Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust r. Rev. Pietas, veiled, standing facing, both hands raised. C 186. RIC 129. This coin is set into a modern 21K gold bezel pendant, which features two tiny conical projections at either side that could have a thin chain passed through them for the coin to be worn. Size: 1.2" W x 0.8" H (3 cm x 2 cm); bezel is modern 21K gold; total weight: 8.8 grams
