Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A handsome, high-quality silver ring featuring a carnelian intaglio depicting Perseus after slaying Medusa. The shank shoulders are embellished with low-relief oak leaves, adding to the ring's decorative appeal. Perseus is shown standing in a relaxed contrapposto pose, his weight on his left leg while his right leg points slightly outward. He faces right, holding the severed head of Medusa. In both Greek and Roman mythology, Perseus is a hero renowned for slaying the Gorgon Medusa and rescuing Andromeda, often symbolizing bravery and resourcefulness. Size shank shoulders: 1.14" L x 0.6" W (2.9 cm x 1.5 cm); band opening: 0.8" Diameter (2 cm); US ring size 10; silver quality: 94.1% to 96.6% weight: 18.6 grams

Our shippers of choice are DHL for International shipments and UPS for domestic shipments, but we are able to ship via other carriers at the buyer's expense as deemed necessary or by request.

For shipments of oversize items, Artemis Gallery will assist the buyer in working with a third-party shipping provider. For shipments outside of the USA, customs and duties may apply upon entry into said country, and this fee, if any, is the buyer's responsibility.
