Roman Empire, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 2nd century CE. A petite mold-made terracotta vessel, in hues of cream and burnt orange, with a flat base displaying an illegible planta pedis (or maker's mark) in the center, steep side walls, angular shoulders, a sturdy pierced handle, and a small wick spout. The recessed tondo, surrounded by a faded incised ring, features a small bird resting on a tree branch above a minute fill hole. Elegant and attractive! Lucite display stand not included. Size: 3.55" L x 2.45" W x 1.75" H (9 cm x 6.2 cm x 4.4 cm).
