Description:

Roman Empire, Imperial Period, found in Western Turkey near Ephesus, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A kettle-shaped red slip terracotta vessel featuring a slightly concave base with white encrustations, rounded sides, a folded handle which was pierced at one time, a fill hole surrounded by concentric rings, and a protruding tubular wick spout. Size: 3" L x 2.5" W x 1.5" H (7.6 cm x 6.4 cm x 3.8 cm).

Provenance: private Schroeder collection, Boca Raton, Florida, USA, acquired before 1970
