Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A beautiful deep, wine red jasper intaglio depicting a Bacchanalian scene of two nude figures, each wearing a laurel wreath, standing and facing a tall tree. At the foot of the tree is a seated goat. This intaglio was made to be set into a ring. Size: 0.5" W x 0.7" H (1.3 cm x 1.8 cm)

Provenance: private Dere collection, East Coast, USA assembled between 1970 and 2000
