Description:

Roman Empire, ca 1st to 3rd centuries CE. Very amusing statue of a satyr, possibly Priapus, standing next to a very willing nymph. He stands with his tunic raised exposing his phallus - which would have been added separately in wood or ivory, she stands with her cloak pulled away from her thigh looking down at amazement at what she has just been shown. A great example of naughty Roman art! Size: 4.5" H (11.4 cm)

Provenance: Ex - Albanese collection
